@gumbob I had no clue that sharing thru IG, FB, Twitter & Google + & Tumblr would bring harm. Ur right though. I have had to privatize my accounts everywhere except Tumblr due to weirdos contacting me w photos/calls/emails I did not request. Problem w Instagram is I entered contest giveaways as I do on FB too. Had to 'public' my acct. I will be sure not to share on social media. Sorry u were hurt.

I am sure. I've deactivated all the tags that are attached to my photos and I surely went to Facebook & changed all privacy settings. I have FB locked down now. I haven't had any problems in the last 3 months. Like a breath of fresh air. I was so surprised about the geo tag thing on photos. I am glad I know now. I am glad you were brave enough to take care of it & do something about it. Take care. Thanks for the follow & shares.

@dorajcrow What's the geotags? Why don't you use the USPS at home pick up service? You can sign up on line & they scan right at your door & you receive an email confirmation. Never had a problem. The Post Master has very strict rules about it.

@gumbob Each photo we take or when we turn on our smart phone, there is the 'location or locator marker' aka you are geotagged. It shows your location at any given time where you are geographically. So, if you take a pic of ur child say at Detroit Zoo, at 12:35 pm on August 30, 2015? Someone will know where u are when u post it to Instagram four square or Facebook or any social media.

@gumbob It is also used like if all ur friends & family want to locate u. I could turn on and find out where my sister is (I'm in Alabama) in Florida. People w children that are school age use it to track their kids driving destinations etc. my exes boss used it to track his work truck vehicles.

I keep forgetting. His boss had them issued cells w locator services on to where he could look in his computer like Google Earth & see exactly where his truck is at any given time. One of the employees was using work truck for side electrical jobs. He was fired.

@dorajcrow I was at a major intersection where they are looking at changing the light changing pattern. Well low & behold, I look up & theirs a camera taking my picture at eye level. I immediately dropped my visor. Overboard with this security, big brother thing!

That is scary for sure omg. We have one main thouroughfare downtown. Started out with 'traffic control' cams too. Such a crock. I was so shocked when the news spoke about people were actually watching people in cars rather than flow. People suck.

@dorajcrow Yeah, I know that a lot of public places can override the privacy settings & put their info in on pics. I think tracking is great for parental control but not for grown adults with sound minds. Perhaps, if you have an elderly parent with Alzheimer's, etc. I was at the hospital & had an incident & had theft from my auto just recently.

@gumbob I realized what you meant! Lol. I absolutely abhor when Cells decide to 'think or anticipate' for themselves what we are going to type. You would think since they are supposed to learn our peculiarities, it would insert what WE think should be typed. I've had some pretty silly & embarrassing auto corrects even when it isn't set to auto correct!
