Not very heavy. As far as itchy, I wore an undershirt, my army's water never itchy.

I teach in a computer lab which runs hot. I cant decide if I'd melt in it. Lol. I joke to my students that one day I'll be a puddle of water with clothes laying on the floor.

Yes, you would definitely melt in this if you're going to be in warm quarters. You might want to look at something that's not quite as snuggly. ;)
