📌 INFORMATION POST: POSHERS BEWARE !! Common scam types and red flags

Putting this out there because I have seen too many people here losing their hard-earned $ to scammers 😓 🚩 to look out for: - Use of the same stock photos: these are pulled straight from alibaba replica sites and rarely change from scammer to scammer - Stolen photos: if you sell luxury goods, keep an eye out for your photos! - Listings under $500: Poshmark authenticates listings >$500. These scammers subvert this by listing their “items” cheaper - Generic descriptions: copy-pasted with broken English, quotations, or phrases like “shop with confidence!”, “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ seller”, “ship from US in [] business day” - New accounts: no love notes received, <500 followers, made in the past 1-2 months, use of stock photos of models or celebrities as profile pics - Old, hacked accounts: likewise no love notes for their “luxury items”, same 🚩 as above. They exploit a password reset loophole - Randomly-generated usernames: often do not match their account names or are random jumbles of letters and numbers - Email or phone number solicitations: NEVER make transactions off Poshmark. These are almost always scammers At the end of the day, Poshmark won’t be able to remove all of these scam accounts. There are simply too many of them popping up too often, and they are not incentivized to get rid of these scammers (Poshmark will, after all, get paid). As such, do the best you can to protect yourself and others. Do your research, vet sellers, and report these scammers :) Happy poshing! ♥️
