Imperial Glass Dish with Frosted Lion Lid

This impressive center piece serving relish/candy dish was made by two master craftsmen - First, the lace edged oval dish has the maker's mark "IG" clear on the bottom, indicating the Imperial Glass Company. This oval dish measures 7 1/2" long x 6 1/4" wide. Next, the reclining frosted lion lid bears the words "Pat Aug 6, 1889" on the inside rim of the lid (see photo). This handsome lion lid was made by Gillinder & Sons in Philadelphia. This stunning lion lid fits this lace edge dish perfectly, standing approximately 6 1/2" tall together, and they are both in excellent condition (there is a spot flea bite on the rim of the lid). This vintage covered candy dish will be wrapped carefully and packaged securely to arrive safely for the Christmas Holidays. This would also be a beautiful wedding or anniversary gift that could be treasured for decades to come.
