Sovereign Woodware "Kiwi Tray" Made in New Zealand This is an amazing wood tray, made from at least 13 different types of native New Zealand Timbers/Woods by the Sovereign Woodworkers Limited of New Zealand, Circa 1960/70s: No. 050 ~ Kiwi Tray , a extremely hard to find example of their work. This was also call a Sherry tray or Tawa tray and is made in a parquet style to make a beautiful color pattern with a Kiwi bird painted in the center of the tray, which is a native bird of New Zealand. The different wood species are labeled on the back of the tray.... Rimu, Rewarewa, Kohekohe, Pukatea, Matai, Tawa, Totara, Tanekaha, Rata, Kauri, Maire, Tawhai and Puriri. A very unique piece perfect for serving up your favorite snacks, cheeses, or hors d'oeuvres. Measures approximately 14 1/4" long and 10" wide and weighs just over 2 lbs. Has two handles to carry the tray and two pieces of wood to stop items from sliding off the tray. In great condition with minor vintage wear .
