Ivory Satin Lace Cap, simple TAPPÉ New York design

This vintage 1950's cap-style hat fixes to the head using attached comb barrets on either side. Woven ivory colored lace over white satin complete this simple yet high fashion design. Original tag reads TAPPÉ New York. Herman Patrick Tappé (American, 1876–1954) was a designer and importer known as the "Paul Poiret” of New York, also dabbling in millinery. His elaborately designed bridal gowns and headpieces were known and worn by stars often pictured in magazine spreads. Hat has been well cared for.
