This "Equestrian" hat consists a larger crown made of burnt orange felt and a medium brim which is upturned at the edge. The crown is covered with a matching heavy veil, which ties at the back. The front features a 'whirligig' made. of feather wings, and a beautiful matching rhinestone. center brooch. A stunning fashion statement then and now. Inspired by the elaborate riding costumes of the Victorian era, this millinery masterpiece exudes drama, elegance, and allure. Imprinted on the felt: RITZ - HENRY POLLAK New York. Also there is a size label: MEDIUM. Henry Pollak started designing ladies’ hats in New York around 1910. His hats were famous for exquisite designs and very high quality, and they were highly sought after. Still today they are a large part of hat collections.
