Japanese Fukagawa Boxed Set of 5 Plum-shaped Small Porcelain Bowls, Kotobuki Akae Arita-ware
This beautiful set of 5 plum-shaped small porcelain bowls was made by the well-known, high-quality Japanese Fukagawa Seiji Company, which is also used by the Imperial Household Agency. They have beautiful round Japanese designs of plum flowers, iris, chrysanthemum, bamboo, and waves, outlined in gold color. They are Arita-ware. They come in the original hard paper gift box with tissue paper around each. The label on the outside of the box reads "Kotobuki Akae." "Kotobuki" means "long life," "congratulations," and "celebration," so it seems this would be considered a set that would be a perfect gift for a wedding or some other celebratory occasion. "Akae" in Japanese porcelain is when the design is primarily red, often along with other colors.
Dimensions: Each of the five bowls is approximately 4 inches (10 cm.) in diameter and about 1.5 inches (4 cm.) high.
Condition: These bowls have never been used, so are in excellent, new condition, with no chips or cracks. The gift box is in very good condition. There are only a few smudge marks on the top/front part of the box.
All my items are packed extra carefully to prevent damage.
