This vintage, circa 1950's, Jeanne pin/brooch has a gold plated bird sitting on a twisted gold plated wire nest with 3 faux pearl eggs in it. The nest is raised on a double tiered high Crown setting. Just charming! Signed in an oval on the back with the copyright symbol. Very 3-dimensional. The gold plating is shiny and the roll-over safety catch works perfectly. 1 1/2" inches wide by 5/8 inches tall". This would be an outstanding addition to your collection and striking when worn. Please read the interesting history of the company below. We will ship this to you in a gift box. Thank you for lookin
Jeanne Vintage Jewellery is quite rare and highly valued among the collectors of antique. The brand’s founder, American jeweler Mark Dottenheim was born September 6, 1888 in the family of Simon Dottenheim and Jennie Ullman. Mark founded his jewellery company in 1919. Labeled “Jeanne @” brooches, pins, earrings, pendants have very interesting design, perfectly executed, and as a result – well preserved. As most of costume jewellery of the time, it was made of jewelry alloy, gold plated, enameled, and decorated with rhinestones, artificial pearls, transparent crystals. Mark Dottenheim died on January 14, 1960 in New York, the same place where he was born and had lived all his life. The company has ceased to exist after the death of its founder.
