"Ditch Your Car. It's a New Frontier!" read the soles of these Fluevog cowgirl boots. The "Calamity" style, reaching to under my calf but over my ankle, these were originally a butterscotch color. I professionally stripped & dyed them for a custom "weathered" look. (The leather is conditioned & cared for using saddle soap and Leather Honey.) Very little wear on soles or in leather linings, but please note they need to be re-heeled soon since I wore them square dancing a couple of times. ‘Vog on!

komicheau Insole measurement possible? Thanks

in_delirium @komicheau I’ll see what I can do. The scope of the boot makes it extremely difficult to get an accurate measurement.

in_delirium @komicheau hello. I tried several different methods, but there’s no way for me to accurately measure the inside. The best I can do is measuring my feet- which are pretty much a perfect fit for these. I’m approx 9 1/4”when I stand on the tape measure (usually a perfect 6, but it varies as I’m sure you know). A wide foot would not do well in these, but a high arch would be fine.

komicheau @in_delirium OMGoodness, thank you for your help! I’m hoping to hear back from a super helpful Fluevogologist at our local store who was going to check with more veteran staffers. The 9.25” gives me pause tho—I’m normally a 9.75, eeek. I just know that their boots tend to run larger typically, hmmm

komicheau If you have a semi-rigid retractable tape measure, just lock it at about 22” or more, then push the free end into the toe box, bend the anchored end up out of the boot at 90% and peek into the boot, reading where the measurement ends at the heel with a simple phone flashlight—et voilá, insole measurement. Though perhaps you knew this already :)

in_delirium @komicheau what size to you usually wear? Is there a Fluevog family that usually works for you? I’m a 6 or 6.5 in Friendships (barefoot/ with wool socks).

komicheau @in_delirium Thank you for your time and energy! Unfortunately, my researching Flue-ologist confirmed that this series of boot runs true to size, which takes me out. Best Well wishes to you though, and thanks again for your patience!

in_delirium @komicheau NP! I have spent plenty of time with Fluevogologists myself- they’re fantastic!

azhandfelice
azhandfelice Can you please explain why they need to be "re-heeled"? Are the heels loose? Thank you!
Feb 10Reply
in_delirium
in_delirium @azhandfelice Thanks for asking! The heels aren’t loose, no. The soft rubber bottom of the heel is worn towards the very back; you can see it in the fourth picture from the top (the pic of the soles). At my cobbler, they call replacing the soft rubber bottom “re-heeling” and it’s very inexpensive and fast to do.
