Johnny Cash performed at Folsom Prison in ‘68. Merle Haggard got to see the show since he was there serving time. It was such a hit, Cash decided to perform a concert at San Quentin. A UK crew filmed it for TV. Cash was so upset they were blocking his view of the audience, he flipped them off. That image has been on more t-shirts than the Simpsons. Cash performed Shel Silverstein’s “A Boy Named Sue” on the fly. The song ended up becoming a surprise hit. Anyway, this shirt commemorates all of that. Plus, it’s in black. The only color Cash would ever wear.
