Just the Right Shoe titled, "Aristocrat" #25084 Circa 1630 The length of one’s shoe was a measure of their wealth and virility. Many of the finest fabrics were wasted on this extravagant fashion. In the early 1500’s the Pope and the King of England tried to limit the preposterous style, leading to the squared off toe found on this more subdued and refined example.
