Description
The is KLM Bols Dutch Ceramic House Bottle #13 (rare)
The bottle represents a house in Amersfoort, a city in the Netherlands about 33 miles from Amsterdam. The house is called 'The Crowned Bee Hive' and was built in 1687. Its address is listed as Kamp 10 Amersfoort.
For sale is a highly collectible Blue Delft house, once a decanter filled with spirits. It is from the second of just three distilleries in the 70 years KLM Airlines has produced these hand-painted in-flight souvenirs. This one is empty, marked #13 on the bottom. Produced in Holland estimated prior to the 1980s, the Henkes distillery mark is also on underside. The wax seal is broken and the cork is not present. Since 1952, KLM has offered these miniature Delft Blue pottery houses, each portraying a historically or architecturally significant Dutch building, to its world business/first-class passengers.
#13 depicts D’Gekroonde Bye-korf (The Crowned Beehive)
Very good vintage condition — some minor crazing; no chips or cracks. Normal handling marks from age, display and storage including wax and cork remnants.
