@gretallack based on your measurements, I believe your phone will fit in the pocket but stick out slightly at the top. mine does the same!

@mother__nature hi! Depth of the pocket is about a half inch. I added a photo too. I have a slim case and it fits just fine but something larger like an otterbox might not fit. Hope that helps!
