poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell Omg, Andrea, I was just thinking of you the other day, no kidding!!! I’ve thought of you so many times but didn’t want to bug you. I have been sending you positive vibes all this time. I hope you’re doing well?! 💕🤗💕 Thank you for the offers… I’d love to pick something up… I can’t decide which one as I’d love them both… Let me think on it today and I’ll try to decide which. They’re both so lovely. 🤔

poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell Doing fine. Just trying to think of something original to make as a Thanksgiving side dish this year. 🤔 How’re your girls? Do they enjoy baking during the holidays? I have a feeling they’ve been a great help to you, a source of strength a d joy!! And maybe a source of homemade pies? 🥧🦃🤣

andreagreenwell @poshkatt2 Oh wow! We are loving going into the holiday season and thinking about all the yummy foods! I’ve been juicing organic apples for homemade apple cider. We usually stick with the classics for sides on Thanksgiving- oyster dressing is my personal favorite! Sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole! This year I’m going to make an apple, pear and Gorgonzola salad as well. We don’t care much for Turkey so it’s all about the sides LOL!

andreagreenwell @poshkatt2 Pie? I always buy a Costco pumpkin because it’s the best! But we love to make pecan and lemon meringue! I’m going to make a raspberry trifle as well to mix things up a bit! It’s such an easy dessert and always looks impressive, layered in the clear glass dish! If you are looking for something new- The New York Times Cooking app always has amazing recipes that are unique!

poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell so funny that you say that about the sides, Andrea, because my family as well says the very same thing… The only reason we have a turkey is my mom makes the best gravy to put on the mashed potatoes and stuffing if anyone wants it… We all say the very same thing “it’s all about the sides“. We’d all be so happy without the turkey and just focus on those gorgeous, colorful root vegetables, homemade cranberry, turnips, sweet potatoes, stuffing for days and days!

poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell The apple, pear, and Gorgonzola salad is so similar to what we serve… We add craisins and my sister always caramelizes pecans. I’ll have to add pairs this time… That’ll be a nice touch.

poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell I never thought of looking at the cooking app even though I subscribe to the times! You can’t imagine what my cookbook looks like with scraps of New York Times recipes sticking out every which way, saved throughout the decades! Do you have a recipe for the raspberry trifle? That sounds like just what I’m looking for… Something that looks fussy that’s easy as pie… No pun intended.😂🤣🤣

poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell I am so impressed and absolutely amazed that you make your own cider! We get off easy in that department because we have an apple orchard and cider mill just a couple of miles from here… We grew up going there as part of our weekly shopping “order”… I’ve gone on school field trips ever since kindergarten, and then I’ve taken my son, Terence as a class mom throughout the years on the very same treks!

poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell It’s been in the same family for over 100 years! Terence is coming out for the day tomorrow and of course he’ll lug at least 2 gallons back to NYC. 🍎

andreagreenwell @poshkatt2 I’m all about the gravy and homemade is the best! So I guess the Turkey does serve a purpose 😂😂 I love a good apple orchard tour/field trip!! Apple cider is easy to make! Just use my juicer and squeeze all that yummy juice out! No filter! I wish Thanksgiving was today! I’m hungry now LOL! Homemade carmelized pecans sound amazing in the salad! I’ll have to add those this year. And yes to craizins! That tangy touch is yummy!

poshkatt2
poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell Well, considering the fact that you’re not big on the turkey either, (although yes, it does serve a purpose), and you’ve confessed to being a “sides & stuffing” family, you’ll either relate and chuckle…or possibly think my family is bizarre…but: you know how everyone talks about living for the leftover turkey sandwiches at midnight? and for lunch the next day and the day after, etc. etc.?
Nov 12Reply
poshkatt2
poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell Well, my sisters and I look forward to leftover sandwiches at midnight and for subsequent lunches, too…just like the rest of America… But not turkey sandwiches. Stuffing sandwiches! With trimmings. But you heard that right… What essentially amounts to BREAD sandwiches. LOL 😆🤣 There’s nothing more delicious, but we do acknowledge how utterly absurd it is…
Nov 12Reply
poshkatt2
poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell …every single year, just as we’re taking that first bite, we look at one another and burst into laughter… we say “you DO realize we’re about to eat a BREAD sandwich don’t you?” Lol The most delicious Thanksgiving stuffing one could imagine… Made more special since it’s only available once per year! 🦃
Nov 12Reply
poshkatt2
poshkatt2 @andreagreenwell Naturally, it’s topped with fresh ground pepper, generously drizzled with Mom’s homemade gravy and lots of homemade cranberry sauce… Absolutely delicious. But yeah, basically what amounts to a BREAD. sandwich. So there you have it. Our dark secret. Let us not speak of it outside the confines of this circle of trust. 🙏.

andreagreenwell @poshkatt2 It’s Monday morning and I’m drinking coffee and LOLing at your funny messages!! “Bread sandwich”!! Yes! Not good for the waist but definitely a delight to the tastebuds! And smothered with that delicious Turkey gravy no less!! I think I’d get along well with you and your sisters!!
