Kewpie Doll 1997 by Lee Middleton "Almost Angelic" 12" doll w/ Tag. This angel kewpie was made by Lee Middleton in 1997. She is dressed in her original outfit with her halo and hang tag. She does have her original box and a COA. The Kewpie image was first conceived in a Dream, as an Elf, by Rose O'Neill. By December 1909, this image was drawn and published in a leading magazine, Kewpie was brought to life in 1912 by sculptor, Joseph Kallus working as Rose's assistant. She is 12" tall with golden color wings wearing a white dress and panty and holding her halo in her hand hence "almost angelic" Comes with original box, tissue and COA. Box has a few blemishes.
