I'd say they are shiny. I think it's due to the brown color that they don't pick it up in the photos. Pictures two and three kind of show it, but the photo simply makes it look lighter (even faded?) but that is the shine. And the trim is soft. I thought I'd wear them all the time, they're so cute, but I keep reaching for my white leather keds (boring!)
