This is an XL but it is a snug fit, not a lot of room for layering. That said the coat is extremely warm so I found I didn’t need the extra layers. The hood does zip off. This coat does pack up into its own backpack that is sewn into the back of the jacket, with backpack straps that attach securely or tuck away when not needed. This jacket does not have a two-way zipper, but it does have large zippered side vents that allow for comfort when driving in a car.
