Kyonishiki Brocade Screens (tabletop)

Brocade tabletop screens purchased in Kyoto 1997, carefully boxed away since and only recently discovered and set up for these photos. The larger of the two is in the original box with the history of Kyoto's famous Nishinjin looms which are known for producing beautiful historical scenes of Kyoto's traditional festivals from fine, vibrant silk and metallic gold threads. The screens are approx. 12 x 12 inches and 11 x 10 inches respectively and in excellent "new" condition, only the box has a split at the corner (pictured) . The smaller screen portrays archers on horseback and the larger one features the famous golden Buddist temple Kinkaku-ju. No box for the small screen.
