proverbs_31 @kcamp9 Hi Katie :) I have hosted one party, and I've had countless HPs, so this is my perspective: "Like", share, and comment on Host's party announcements. Are you on any tag lists for this, where people tag you in party announcements? You can also go to Posh's blog on Mondays and see a list of upcoming parties for the week. Then, continue to help share their party announcement, and their closet....

proverbs_31 @kcamp9 Every time you share something from their closet, the Host can see it in their newsfeed - which gains you some exposure. And IMO you are doing something nice for them by sharing their items, not just "mooching" for a HP. Scratch their back, they scratch yours, is how I see it :) Not that they are obligated, they only get to choose 100 HPs, and can give themselves 10, leaving 90 for other Poshers.

proverbs_31 @kcamp9 I'd say share their closet once they have a theme/several days before their party. When I hosted, I had 85 of my 100 picks chosen by the day before, and was narrowing down my million other options on the day of the party. I did choose some new things that people tagged me in on the day of, but the chances were slim since I probably already had similar items picked out. Hope this all helps :)

proverbs_31 @kcamp9 I know that Laura @lauras_boutique has a huge tag list to tag everyone on parties, follow groups, sales, etc. If you ask her, I think she'd probably add you to her list. Then when she adds new items to her closet, she'll tag you. I think it's a nice opportunity to return the favor to her and Share Share Share her new listings - a small gesture for all the work she does to help us and tag us in everything. Make sense?

proverbs_31 @sr_closet Welcome to Posh! Yes, a shipping label will be emailed to you. Just print it out and tape it to your package. So easy! And I explained about the boxes scheduling a pick up in the pic. Just make sure the boxes ONLY say "Priority Mail" - NOTHING else!! Really important that it's NOT express, flat rate, etc. Totally free & delivered to your door! You can sell on Posh without ever leaving your house!

I tagged 3 of my favorite closets for cover shot & photography inspiration above in my 2nd comment 👆👆👆 Definitely go up and check them out!!! I also like @harmonyh & @chirocarly for simple, clear, well lit cover shots - easy to tell what's for sale. This should help!

ptl8 Hi! Lv ur closet and appreciate the info! !! I've gotten good and bad over the last 3 months. . Two questions, 1. I share and share and follow all I can! I was finally picked for one HP...what bothers me is they're are some items that are picked 4 or 5 times, while others go unnoticed. ptl8 ...2, I finally joined a sm group, who r wonderful. My problem is I have Muscular dystrophy, so some days I'm too sick to even get on, much less spend hours sharing, taking professional photos, making signs. Etc. ...which is just part of it. So while Posh had been great for me to get involved in, it seems I can never get caught up and as involved as others. How can I let my lack of mobility keep me from being able to compete with professional closets?

proverbs_31 @ptl8 Hi Amy :) I will try to share some tips that have worked for me, but there's no real cut & dry answer - it's up to each individual Host and what they want to feature in the HP showroom. You don't have any unsupported items or obvious reasons that you couldn't get a HP, so that's good. Are you on any tag lists, to be tagged on party announcements? That way you get a heads up on the upcoming parties & can try to promote your closet to the Host....

And like you mentioned, it definitely helps to be involved in the Posh community - be friendly, Keep in touch - doesn't have to be every day, but it helps to build relationships with people. Think if you were hosting - wouldn't you want to give some HPs to your friends on here - the people who were friendly with you, who were supportive, always shared your items & sales, and helped you out, etc? :)

proverbs_31 @ptl8 Many hosts reserve a certain # of HPs for newbies. I will add you to my "newbie tag list" if you want - basically, I just try to recommend new closets to upcoming Hosts. It will also help if you then like & share the party listing, introduce yourself to the host, congratulate her, and share some of her items. Those are all great ways to get her attention on your closet - while sharing the love!

proverbs_31 @ptl8 Trust me, I wish I knew how to increase sales without being active!!! But I dont. I make more sales when I am on here more. My biggest problem is having lighting to take photos. I have such a dark apt. I have tons to be listed, but I can't get good photos unless I have natural light :/ A friend told me it helps her to list new things often and drop prices often... but that's easier said than done! You could join a share group that allows you to only sign up on the days you want to share?

proverbs_31 @ptl8 OK so for example, I just tagged you in a party listing. Now you can go ahead and "like" that listing. Share it to your followers. Then go to her closet and share a few items. This is a good way to attract some attention because she'll see this activity in her "news", so she's more likely to look in your closet. Her party isn't until late January, and she won't have a theme until a week or a few days before the party date. As it gets closer, she'll probably "drop the price" of...

Once she has a theme - that's the perfect time to share her party ad again, and also share some items from her closet, to once again, entice her to look in your closet - so she can maybe find something that fits the theme and deserves to be featured in the HP showroom ...The more parties/hosts you do this for, you'll increase your chances of getting your closet noticed for HPs! xoxo

proverbs_31 @ptl8 The 1st party of the day does not feature HPs, only the later 2 parties. For those 2 parties, Most likely (but not always) the Host has already picked out all their HPs prior to the party. It's usually too late to get a HP once the party has started. But - if you share a bunch of items that you see in the party feed, you'll probably get some return shares :)

onlyonemc @proverbs_31 Hi there!! I have a question and I'm so unsure about what to do. I just sold my wedding dress (hallelujah!! I never married the man, and am so glad someone else will get to wear that gown!).... The problem (?) is that it's awfully big and bulky and I'm unsure how to ship! proverbs_31 @onlyonemc I've actually been concerned about that myself! Maybe email Posh and ask them? You could search for wedding dresses that have sold, and ask those sellers too. Posh says our shipping is for up to 5 lbs and doesn't mention box size anywhere, but i did have trouble with my box being too big once...

proverbs_31 @onlyonemc ... I was shipping a large purse and the base was so wide, it wouldn't fit in any of the USPS priority mail boxes. They wanted me to pay a hefty surcharge. After several attempts, finally the guy let it go as a one time courtesy. Maybe you'll get lucky if the post office employee isn't a stickler!

proverbs_31 @onlyonemc When I had a problem, it was under 5 lbs, but the problem was the size of the box.... So even if you upgrade for the weight, it's possible you *might* still have a problem.... Let me know if you figure out anything! Good luck!

proverbs_31 @meg23 I remember you told me that you scheduled your first pick up! But I don't remember where you wrote it. How did it go?... I've been putting "ring bell" when I schedule the Pick Ups (as long as I'll be home). Our normal mail carrier will do this - ring the bell. Twice now, we've had an "alternate" guy who just opens the door to our porch and grabs the boxes waiting there! I guess it's convenient, but a little weird...

meg23 It went fine! It was a small package, I was able to put it in my mailbox, I put "in/at mailbox" in the comments and they picked it right up! Haven't tried it with a larger box yet but I think I might try putting it in a plastic container when I do. Keep it dry and less visible.

onlyonemc @proverbs_31 Lol funny you ask! It took a few tries at the post office, but there wasn't a big enough box. I included the protective bag to hang it in, and the dress in the bag weighed exactly 5 pounds! I finally took it to a pack and ship place, where they sold me a perfect box for $5, then got an upgraded label from Posh for the extra weight ($7.95 out of my profit). .....

onlyonemc @proverbs_31 Nope they sure didn't! It would seem that as long as the proper label is attached, we can use whatever box we want. My issue at the post office was just that they didn't have a big enough box on hand. The negative of the pack & ship place was I had to buy the box. The positive was that they found the ideal one, then packaged, packed, and mailed it for me on the spot! .....

onlyonemc @proverbs_31 .... I have one other heavy item for sale and think I'll go to the pack & ship store again as it was well worth the price of the box. But the extra money spent to ship is something we should all factor into any sales of heavy items (gowns, winter coats, etc.).

On your app there should be a "Shop" tab at the bottom - that's where you'll find the link to the parties....

proverbs_31 @chinupbeautiful ...You can browse current and past parties to shop -I recommend checking out the "showrooms" within that party - like Host Picks, First Look, etc. You can also share your items to the parties - anything that fits that particular party. When you share to a party, the entire Posh community has a chance to see it, not just your followers.

proverbs_31 @chinupbeautiful I'm not sure what you mean exactly - that you're having trouble sharing items to the parties? There is a party going on now. It's the 3rd party of the day, so it's a theme. You can share anything from your closet, as long as it fits the theme "Casual Chic" - which is somewhat open to interpretation. When you click on one of your items you'll see the "share" icon somewhere - on Android it's under the item description.

You'll see sellers with different personalities, preferences, styles, etc. For cover shot inspiration, I recommend these closets: @harmonyh & @chirocarly have bright, simple, clear cover shots that are easy to tell what's for sale. @rmccouture & @cmc514 & @fashioniata have creative, bright cover shots that are eye catching and magazine-worthy!

proverbs_31 @katfoodmonster Personally, I like a white/plain/bright background for my cover shots. The more descriptive you can be upfront, the easier it is for a buyer to hit the "buy" button! It helps to include measurements, condition, an flaws, fabric content, or anything that will help the buyer understand what they'll be getting, since they can't inspect it themselves. I've come across some great posts about this, let me see if I can find them and I'll tag you...

cmc514 Great tips on the asking about color of the items for buyers Megan! That is one thing I get A LOT. I usually like to state in my description, if I think color is questionable, which photo is most accurate representation of the true color. I will also say that only the first pic is edited. I still get questions and it helps to talk about it still. Great tips!

proverbs_31 @megansl8 Aw thanks! And my name is Megan too btw :) Many Poshers have their own "tag list" of their Posh friends, and keep each other in the loop. Some Poshers have huge lists and are really great about staying on top of tagging/notifying their lists about upcoming parties, sales, follow games, etc. If you want to get on a big tag list like that, you could ask @lauras_boutique to add you to her tag list.

proverbs_31 @megansl8 Regarding groups, do you mean a Share Group?? Poshers have started all kinds of share groups - basically you agree to share other Poshers' closets, and they share yours too. Everyone helps everyone, and gains more exposure. Some groups "meet" daily, others you just sign up on the day you want to participate. They all have different giudelines as far as what to share. If you'e interested, I can tag you in a few, and you can see what fits best for you.

It's possible that it was just overlooked by your followers at the time you shared it - they may not have even seen it in their feed. I tagged a bunch of Poshers, so hopefully they can help get the ball rolling 😊 Some people have huge tag lists, and they will spread the word more quickly by tagging lots of people. proverbs_31 @emsneyd Hi! 😊 My advice is - avoid advertising your closet in other closets, especially under items for sale (for example - pasting your comment under a cute top that @chicklet11 is selling). Posh frowns upon that & people generally don't like it. My advice is to.... tag them in your own closet! 😀 I really think you may get better results. Also, for more followers, many people will follow you back if you follow them. Give it a try! Let me know if you have any specific questions. Good luck!

proverbs_31 @matanabe You're talking about in one particular listing, right? No, I don't think so. You need to upload them in the order you want them to appear. Then for example, if you delete pic 2, then pic 3 and 4 will move up. Alternatively, you can click on the pic you want to change, then click on the camera icon to upload a new pic in its place, without moving the other photos around. Does that make sense?

matanabe yep.. i have them already upload unfortunately so normally i just hit edit then it appears at top.. but wish there was an option to drag into locations cause i have seen where some specify clothes ~ shoes ~ jewelry in order

proverbs_31 @matanabe Oh, are you taking about the order that all your items appear in your closet? For that you just have to share each one. When you share it, it goes to the top. There's no drag & drop. Maybe Posh will come out with that feature in the future. But it's good to share your listings anyway! More exposure!

proverbs_31 @fallonnoel See the 3rd picture here. It's really important to use "PRIORITY MAIL" ONLY! No priority mail express, regional rate, etc!! Posh emails us priority mail shipping labels, and the post office ppl are sticklers for using the appropriate box with the label.

proverbs_31 @fallonnoel Also just incase you didn't know, the buyer pays shipping. Posh has a flat shipping rate of $5.95 and sometimes they offer discounts/promos. You don't have to calculate anything! Just make sure your package is 5 lbs or under. Generally, 5 lbs isn't an issue, unless you're Shipping lots of items together, or heavy shoes / boots. If it's over 5 lbs, you as the seller will need to pay a little for it. I've sold over 200 orders, and I've only needed to buy a 6 lb label once.

I think one of the easiest ways to find people again is just to have their closet name tagged in a listing in your own closet - exactly how you found me! Go to your own listing, you can click on my name and find my closet anytime. You can tag other names in that same listing you have, then you'll know where to go to find anyone again

proverbs_31 @victorria13 Basically, they want you to be in good standing (no unsupported items, no taking transactions off of posh, etc). As a SU, you represent Posh, so they want you to be social and communicate well with the community. You can email them and ask to be considered, but be prepared to wait several months to get chosen! Does that help?

proverbs_31 @jmh311 On the 2nd picture, I've added some tips for what to ask before you purchase. I definitely recommend asking for measurements! Length, waist, rise, bust, etc. Then you can compare those to something you already have, and get a better idea of how it will fit you. A few more ideas of what to ask are listed. I really hope that helps you for your future purchases!

proverbs_31 @guxdxlupee See the 3rd pic for more shipping info... The shipping labels are good for 5 lbs and under. It's rare that you'd go over 5 lbs - maybe heavy boots or a bundle of multiple shoes or something.... Wrap your item nicely, like in tissue paper. Many Poshers include a little thank you note.... I schedule a pick up on the USPS app and they pick it up with my mail the next day!

They're free from usps.com and they deliver to your door. Order now so you have them on hand when you make a sale. Get a bunch of sizes. The closer we get to Christmas, the longer they take to deliver!
