LAUREL CANYON Custom Distressed Burned Hat

This hat began as an ivory Olive & Pique structured ranch hat. I dyed it a warm Pinot Noir, then overlapped cayenne for a rusty overlay. I etched a buckskin band and overlaid it with cordovan leather cord, twine and a tonally dyed bandana. I then etched a Laurel motif on the top. It’s been burned and rubbed back to give it character and to age it like a fine wine. A ring tail pheasant feather is attached with a single stitch, and can easily be removed or replaced. The size adjusts to fit head sizes up to 59cm. Indoor photos look warmer, outside in shade look cooler.
