Hard to find amethyst glass version of this vase in a similarly uncommon size. This is a beautiful 12" Elegant Glass footed keyhole vase by Cambridge Glass. The key hole refers to the unique open stem shape of the vase. These were made in multiple sizes and this is the largest.
I think this would be fabulous mixed with orange pumpkins for Halloween or fall decor. These were made 1934 - 1958 in Cambridge Ohio. Great color, it is more on the purple side than burgundy in case your monitor settings differ from mine. I have pictured it with a crystal decanter for size comparison.
Elegant glass is not depression glass, the time periods overlap but elegant glass involved fire polishing the mold lines by hand and other hand finishing in the creation process so, unlike depression glass, it was expensive to buy when new. A striking display piece which can be used functionally as well.
Size: 12″ h x 4.25″w at the rim.
Condition*: Mint condition, no cloudiness in the glass. No scratches or chips. There are a few glass inclusions/air bubbles typical of glass of this era.
