LaGardo Tackett 'Egghead' 1959 Vintage Stash Jar Glazed Porcelain Sculpture
Originally created by American industrial designer LaGardo Tackett as witty and irreverent bedside c0ndom holders, the "Egghead" collection of glazed porcelain stash jars were produced by Schmid International and sold by mail order from popular men's magazines such as Playboy & Esquire.
With its bowtie and relatable, humorous, and modern expression, this rare "Housefly" Egghead stash jar sculpture is a real conversation starter, and a Mid Century Modern collector's must-have.

LaGardo Tackett (1911-1984) was born in Henderson, Kentucky. Ceramics collectors can usually identify Tack's minimalist white porcelain tableware, but his creations include scores of other forms and several signature colors. His interests were not limited to pottery but evolved over his lifetime from furniture design to a philosophical approach to a modern style of living. His works were used to accessorize the famous Case Study houses, showcased at the Museum of Modern Art.
In excellent, well-preserved MCM vintage condition. No cracks, chips, or nicks. Some crazing. No cork stopper. See photos.
