The polished natural lapis lazuli cabochon is bezeled with a thick layer of copper. The ring is finished with a light patina. To prevent chipping and to keep the crystal shiny, the stone has been coated in a clear protectant. Lapis lazuli is a combination of minerals, including lazurite, calcite, and pyrite.
