Large Antique Burmese ‘Kalaga’ Embroidered Framed Tapestry

Gorgeous handmade with glass beads, metallic threads and hundreds of sequins. This piece measures 26.5x26.5” The ancient art of hand embroidery of the Mandalay court of the Burma (renamed Myanmar in 1989) is still practiced today. The Kalaga - Sanskrit term for Indian wall hangings - is a very traditional decor and offering of the South Asian region. A great piece would look great in any decor.
