This exquisite vase is exceptionally large compared to other crystalline glazed vases and is in perfect condition. This piece is made of porcelain and the crystal growth was achieved by using a crystalline glaze which is technically very difficult. Large vases, such as this one, takes a very skilled artisan to create as they require a lot of wheel-throwing experience due to the amount of clay that is needed. Additionally, getting the crystals to grow properly usually requires multiple firings on such large pieces in the kiln. The beautiful colors and tones can appear differently depending on the lighting in your surroundings.
