Large Silky Malachite Specimen 2.5 lbs

I looked for the largest natural malachite to share with you. Okay honestly, I do have one I can barely budge, who is like an old uncle looking out for the family, but doesn't get around so well, lol. I am such a huge fan of these mossy, velvety, sparkly malachites; a must have for any rock lover! These are often listed as rare, but I question that designation...it's like saying diamonds are rare. This is a SHOWPIECE though. I often tell stories about working directly with families in Africa, but with the Malachites, my friends would not let me travel anywhere near the DR Congo...so these beauties were brought out to my friends in South Africa before reaching my hands. Malachite has so many powerful properties! I associate this one with 'protective healer.' Size: >5" x 3.5" and heavy at a Weight: ~2.5 lbs Origin: Kasompe, Katanga, DR Congo circa 2004. I have used an overhead light with the photos to try and capture the 'silky' aspect and consider these photos a good representation of color. Please be aware that Silky Malachite crumbles, pretty much every time you touch it or move it, so you will see small bits from shipping and should not be alarmed.
