Large Still Life Oil on Canvas Painting of Pink Roses Signed by Robert Cox

This is an oil on canvas painting of a lovely bouquet of pale to robust pink roses in a pink ceramic vase by the listed artist Robert Cox (1934-2011), famous for his still life art. Beautiful color palette of pinks and mauves with hints of deeper reds and highlights of golden yellow and pale green foliage. The artwork is in excellent condition, matted and framed by the artist in stained wood, complementing the palate of colors in the piece. The artist, Robert Cox, was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School of Art. He found inspiration for his floral paintings in the orchards and wildflower fields of California and became one of the most prolific painters of the 1970s and 1980s, particularly known for his still life art. Cox is particularly known for perfecting the neo-Victorian style and for adopting the pallet knife in creating dimensional flowers. His work is held in numerous museums, galleries and private collections throughout the world.
