luluayyer Hi would you be able to send measurements for the bust/top, like armpit to armpit, and the waist? Thanks in advance.
Feb 17Reply
jannat42
jannat42 @luluayyer Waist is measured at 33 inches but there are different hook sizes on the band to either tighten or loosen. Shoulder width (midpoint of shoulder from back to other midpoint of shoulder) is measured at 15.5 inches. Bust is about 36 inches, padding included.

_soyo
_soyo how long is this from shoulder to bottom? or how tall are you and did you wear heels with it?
Mar 11Reply
jannat42
jannat42 @_soyo I’m 5ft and had 3inch heels. Shoulder to bottom hem of the lehenga skirt is about 56-57inches. The skirt can also be worn lower for more belly which would make it longer.

sidra316 @jannat42 would you be able to ship tomorrow..is padding removable. And would this fit someone 5’5 you think

jannat42
jannat42 @sidra316 the skirt is about 36 inches so it’s up to you how low you’d like to wear it and your heel height. As for the padding, it looks to be sewn in but I’m sure a tailor can take them out. Yes-can be shipped tomorrow.

arianes26 Hi!! I’m interested in this piece. Curious if you can help me with some measurement requests. I’m unsure if the S will be too big and I need to wear the skirt pretty high to cover stomach. Can you clarify the two waist measurements (since you said there are two clasps) Also just want to confirm there aren’t any stains or damage on the bottom of the dress. This is for my wedding so want to be sure. :) thanks!

jannat42 @arianes26 This dress is as perfect as can be for being worn only once. The tulle on the bottom of the dress was floor length so grazed the ground, which is typical of any long dress of course. I would recommend extra dry cleaning before wearing it on your big day.

jannat42 There are three hooks plus an additional sewn in one to make the waist even smaller (specifically to sit higher on the body in order to reduce showing skin) that helps bring the circumference to 31 inches. Skirt can certainly be pulled up and secured to the bodice and dupatta for extra coverage. With that said, please keep in mind that skirt gets “shorter” if you pull it up all the way to meet the top part.

jannat42 There’s a sheer lace anarkali style top that somewhat covers the midsection too which is a great bonus. If you have any further questions, I’m happy to help answer them. This dress is truly magnificent in person and very detailed and princess-y with the embroidery and net work.

arianes26 @jannat42 thank you so much this is so helpful!!! I really appreciate all the detail. Yes so we are doing a Sikh ceremony in a gurdwara which will require a bit more coverage of midriff. I’m about 5 foot 6.5 so I’m hoping that by pulling it up to sit maybe 1-2 inches below the top the skirt won’t become too short. What do you think? Awesome that you added another hook though.

jannat42
jannat42 @arianes26 5 feet 6 inches tall? Please note that the skirt is about 40 inches in length top to bottom hem.

jannat42 The dupatta is stunning and there’s so much material that it can certainly be used to cover up any skin needed to be covered even though it’s embroidered met. I had it wrapped around me at times for ultimate modesty.

arianes26 @jannat42 I just measured myself and 31 inches is still pretty large. im wondering if adding another hook would make the skirt look strange. also question, did you mention that you added the can-can?
Jun 24Reply
jannat42
jannat42 @arianes26 honestly I don’t really know if the skirt would look strange or not if you constrict it by another few inches with a new hook. All I can saw is that there’s a lot of material and the dupatta can cover any “flaw” or skin. And the can-can was pre-set and not removable unless it’s cut out,

arianes26 awesome thank you! im actually running a picture of this by the gurdwara since they are strict and might actually require a punjabi suit. sorry for the delay. if I get the green light ill send through an offer.

jannat42 @arianes26 not a problem at all! Also note that a good tailor can also make miracles happen if you need to make alterations, assuming you like the fabric/main outfit enough to purchase. Up to you! Thanks :)
