I’ll be simple & clear: I will immediately decline all offers more than 30%. Simple. As well, I will not play the $1 increase “counter-game”, when we are worlds apart on price. You chance being blocked when doing so. Nor, will I play the “counter reverse game” (where you go lower than your original lowball offer, every week). I am, however, open to offers, when reasonable. This is not a guarantee that I can or will be able to accept all offers. But, at least it can be considered & countered🌷

907jen Can I borrow this? I never took offense to such offers until yesterday and now I'm on a rant. I got a $125 offer on a $550 listing. I made a reasonable counter, where maybe in retrospect I should have blocked, and she came up ten. I then declined, to which she made a new offer coming up another ten. Mind blown. Naturally her closet has items in the $600-$1K range. So then I wonder if she is trolling or a scammer?

buttonandthread @907jen - Yep....it can be SO entirely frustrating & insulting. I’ve gotten offers for 15$ on an item NWT, currently sold full price in stores, for $150 and they will come up $5. It’s just not worth my time. By ALL means- use this, post this in your closet, my friend! All yours!♥️I either straight up decline the 50% off offers- and block at the 2nd time they try (at 48%🙄).

907jen @buttonandthread Took a cue from you and blocked her, after a pointless volley of lowball, decline, new lowball, decline. Might really need to take a cue from you and block earlier. Seems like a lot of grief spared. Anyhoo. Great closet and thanks for the shares (of my stuff and of your chart)! 🤗

gerrelynne Greetings! I just purchased your Free People Fable Dress in wine and am thrilled to add it to my collection of nine others. Am considering selling some of my pretties (never my Fable beauties) on Poshmark and if I do, may I please use your chart? It is brilliant. Blessings...gerre lynne

buttonandthread @gerrelynne -Hello♥️Oh, most CERTAINLY, go for it! It’s a great lil’ thing to put in your closet!! All yours my friend! 🌷 Sending you a “thank you” note/“listing” for your purchase, momentarily. It’ll pop up as a “bundle” item for you (just a thank you not tho, lol. Not a “listing”). Thanks for the purchase of the rare fable dress....truly, such a beauty! I’m certain you’ll look downright GORGEOUS in her!😍

gerrelynne @buttonandthread Awwwww...thank you doll, you are so sweet! As I peruse your items available, methinks that you are going to be dangerous for my wallet! But what is money for, if not to beautify oneself, no? Ha!

gerrelynne You are very welcome, hon! love your motto of not only wearing them, but sharing them with others! Am looking at my closet here in Florida and I probably have a hundred dresses/skirts/blouses/sweaters that I will not wear again. Considering Poshmark but I have so much else on my to-do list. Perhaps I should stick to purchasing and not selling! Ok, I just twisted my own arm. Ha!

buttonandthread @gerrelynne - oh, you should totally jump in on the Poshmark selling fun!!! I’m betting you have a pretty epic closet & would have an easy time selling! It just takes some patience sometimes. If at all you need any pointers/tips, I’d be more than happy to help! I’ll tell ya (in a bit- after my Botox appointment) how I set myself up to make it easier for myself, while I got the hang of it all!🌷♥️😘

gerrelynne @buttonandthread How very kind of you to offer your expert assistance, should I take the Poshmark plunge!! In several weeks after closing on the house here in Florida, I will embark on redecorating the family home in Pennsylvania. My hope is to complete this in five months. Time shall tell if I succeed, no?

gerrelynne I have some pretty awesome (in my humble opinion) soiree decor items that I recently created and was considering offering these on Poshmark to get my feet wet. Again, I will not have the time to begin right now, as overseeing the packing up of the house for the move is a major undertaking. Whew! That being said, I would love to learn about anything that you feel would be helpful!
Feb 26Reply

buttonandthread @gerrelynne - Sounds like you’ll def have a full deck of cards on your hands w/the move!! At heart you’ll be making the move to a northern/colder climate with winter nearly at your back...better than doing so headed INTO a winter!!🥶That would be the best way to become associated w/the selling on Poshmark world...just listing a couple items! I think you should! 😁

buttonandthread @gerrelynne - And, Poshmark has a great home decor market now too- so its a perfect platform to “get your feet wet”! You can request boxes (priority boxes) from the post office website for free I “ordered” quite a few sizes in the beginning- so that I’d always have the right size for any item. Just go to post office website & order from a variety of “priority mail” boxes- all diff unique sizes.
Feb 26Reply
buttonandthread
buttonandthread @gerrelynne They simply deliver them for free, to your doorstep😉. Or, you can stop by the post- but there’s only a couple sizes to choose from there). This makes the process of sending out the item so much easier- to already be set up w/boxes. But, I personally, then started simply buying polymailers from eBay w/pretty prints- along w/clear bags to seal/protect the garment in (fairly inexpensive).

buttonandthread @gerrelynne Lastly, I stocked up on pretty tissue paper & hand cut my own little thank you cards to add to each item. I developed a “signature” packaging method & stuck to it...it made my getting packages out to an excited buyer- to a science & thus, completely efficient. All while still maintaining a very personal, personable & unique touch- because to me- it’s ALSO a very personal experience. One I take pride in☺️🌷♥️

gerrelynne Hi There Darlin'! Your passion for what you do is awesome and the way it should be in my humble opinion. You sell fabulous pieces that are obviously in excellent condition. Love that. I have been perusing and notice that there is literally something for everyone and what fun going through your closet. Many thanks for sharing all that you did with regard to getting started on Poshmark! Truly a big help!

gerrelynne Love the idea of being able to not make trips to the post office for priority boxes and to think that they will be delivered to me is fantastic. Also, I was not aware that they have more sizes than what are available in the Post Office! While I have no doubt had things delivered to me in a myriad of sizes, I just never stopped to think about it. I have been toying with the idea of having boxes imprinted with my business name. Finding that most appealing.

gerrelynne Yes, to those marvelous polybags and some of them truly are pretty! I researched them a while ago on Amazon and the choices are endless. I used to have an antique shop in Chadds Ford, PA where I specialized in antique and vintage French furniture and decorative pieces that I painted and distressed a la Shabby Chic style. Started out selling on Ebay and then decided to open a shop which I had for two years. It was very successful.

gerrelynne I shipped dressers, vanities, tables, chairs, you name it as far away as California. Created shipping boxes/containers for them myself. It was wild and crazy...and I loved it.

gerrelynne How true about being in PA at this time of the year. For the eight years that I had the house in Florida, I was here (FL) about eighty percent of the time, going back to the PA family home for holidays, birthdays and to spend time with my children. Sometimes, they would come here and we had such fun. My truth is that my precious daughter went to heaven recently and I am struggling mightily (without most knowing how deep my depression and sadness is). I am gutted.

gerrelynne My Grandmother once told me that when a person asks how you are, they really do not want to know. I have learned that there is truth in that.

gerrelynne Miel and I had planned on opening an Etsy shop featuring vintage clothing and decorative pieces. I had already ordered beautiful labels/stickers to seal the tissue paper with. On a lighter note and speaking of tissue paper, you would not believe the amount of pretty paper that I have! Probably a large bin's worth!

gerrelynne You and I are quite similar and I Presentation is so, so important and a reflection of who we are. It reveals that we care, have attention to detail and go above and beyond. You my dear are all about those things and I am a member of your club. I cannot thank you enough for taking all of the time that you have to share all that you did to assist me in getting started! You are a lovely human being and I am truly grateful for your help. Sending you gratitude and blessings, gerre lynne

buttonandthread @gerrelynne - oh sweetie....I am so so so sorry to hear of the loss of your previous daughter!!! Literally, that’s just completely ..... unimaginable. Like, utterly, completely unimaginable pain & loss - to lose a child. It’s simply not supposed to happen! Please know- I’m not someone whom asks how someone is & actually doesn’t mean it/ doesn’t really care. I actually truly do.

buttonandthread @gerrelynne I do not have children (I was told I should not due to a condition(s) I have & subsequent surgeries that made that even more impossible...then came menopause=not in any way possible even😤). So, I can only relate in other truly gutting losses in my life. But, I think, nothing can be more confusing & truly wrong-than losing a child. Are you doing ok?
Feb 26Reply
gerrelynne
gerrelynne Oh, please do not think that was referencing you when I mentioned people not really wanting to hear a honest response to, "how are you". Truth be told, there are many who are at a loss for words when a honest response is given and I do not hold that against them. I am one who offers words of comfort, hugs or just silently being there if that is what is needed. When I am in an especially dark place, tell those that I a close to that I need alone time.

gerrelynne That means that I can no longer pretend to smile and need time to recharge.Your sincerity comes through beautifully and I am very grateful for it! I am not doing good, but my girl visits me daily. we always talk about everything. always have and always will. we made a promise to one another that we would find a way to reach out to the other when the first of us went to heaven. of course, I always thought that that would be me. my girl sends me butterflies constantly, and she sends me feathers.

gerrelynne
gerrelynne the feathers come very very often! I am extremely grateful for all of her outreach. our conversations truly keep me going. consistently I tell her that I am not sure that I can go on without her. her response is always, all in good time Mom!

gerrelynne dear lady, our conversations over the past 1 and 1/2 days have meant a great deal to me. You have made me smile and that is always a good thing! you have given me some tools that will be very helpful if and when I decide to open a poshmark store. I am really sorry to hear about your various surgeries and hope that at this point in your life you are not in pain and are able to really and truly enjoy life!
