Letter D Brooch, Vintage, Gold, Mamselle

This is the classic initial monogram brooch from costume jewelry designer Mamselle, whose pieces like this are usually gold plated. It has an elegance within its simplicity: in this case a “D” is really an “A+.” The brushed/textured gold tone face of these initial pins often have a few almond/leaf shape intaglio/carved decorations along one portion of the letter- such delightful details! This dates from the 1960s-1970s (Mamselle brooches were made from 1962-1987.)
