Like New Vintage Deadstock Dixiefried Shantung Silk Marilyn Monroe Niagara Dress

Featured is an original VTG Ruched Red Shantung Silk Dixiefried Twist Tie Dress (forerunner to the Stop Staring! Clothing, brand) This is the OG vintage reproduction, pinup girl, clothing line of retro dresses that pre-dated them all & on which those who followed drew their inspiration. This dress was made when the original designer was at the helm. (Very early 2000’s) proudly made in the USA. Size Small. (Would best fit a 34-36 inch bust and a 26-27” waist, and 37”-38” hips.) Dixiefried styles were cut bigger than, say, Stop Staring if you are familiar with stop staring sizing. This unlined dress fits like a stop staring size Medium, and the genuine silk fabric does not stretch. Hope the sizing guidance is helpful. This is very similar to the dress Marilyn Monroe wore in the 1953 movie Niagara. Looks best when it is worn off the shoulder. In excellent condition, & the textured shantung fabric is dreamy. Dress has just been sitting in my closet. Side zipper works great. Worn but a time or two. Thanks for visiting!
