The primary goal was to reduce extreme poverty in Ethiopia by producing high-end finished products rather than exporting leather.

All accessories are handmade by local artisans who are paid a livable wage in safe and clean conditions. All products are sourced ethically according to the founder of Konjo who is also a board member of a PAC 12 college fashion department, along with several highly placed executives in the fashion industry.
