Abahizi Rwanda is an independent, employee-owned handbag manufacturer that supplies Kate Spade's On Purpose collection. Abahizi Rwanda provides full-time employment, health benefits, and access to a life skills education program for more than 250 women from the community. Their success has a positive impact on the lives of 20,000 people in their community. The factory where the bags are made is located in a tiny village in Rwanda with no reliable running water, frequent power outages, and a lack of manufacturing skills among the workers.
