Additionally, shetland wool is known to be a little scratchy due to the removal of the natural lanolin oils in lambswool during the finishing process. To counteract the itchiness, I've hand washed the cardigan in Eucalan, reintroducing lanolin oil back into the wool fabrics resulting in an exceptionally soft cardigan sweater.
