As such, Little Otavalo uses alpaca wool because of its elegant fibers, which are warmer, lighter, and stronger than cashmere. Our Andes Ponchos are light and gentle to the touch. Perfected through craft over the years these poncho's provide warmth and comfort for even the coldest of nights. Do you find standard wool blankets to be scratchy? Alpaca wool is hypoallergenic, which makes it the opposite of itchy - rather, alpaca wool feels soft and warm against the skin.
