Longaberger Custom American Work Basket

Warm Brown Tapered Trim. 2 Leather handles. Woven Bottom w/4 Points. Shoestring, 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" & 3/4" Weaves. Custom band with a blue strip and star tacks, given as an award basket. American Work Basket's unique shape comes from Maine basketmaking traditions. Originally the four pointed bottom was designed to preserve the basket from daily wear and tear. However it also added strength and allowed for air to circulate around the food stored inside. In order to achieve the contours of the basket, after the bottom is woven, it is placed on a weaving form and pressed into the final shape. Burn logo, weaver's initials and the date are all found on the inside band. 10" American Work Basket holds up to 15 lbs.
