Longaberger May Series Petunia Basket+Protector+Fabric Liner 8th in Series This is the Longaberger 1997 Petunia Basket Set that includes the Basket, Liner and Plastic Protector. The May Series was to honor Grandma Bonnie Longaberger's (she is the mother of Longaberger founder Dave Longaberger) love of flowers. This is the 8th basket in the series. It features Purple accent weaving on the trim strip and chain design, two leather ears and 3/8" weave. The basket measures 9.5RD 5H. Height 5 3/8” to the top edge of the basket Basket diameter 10” Purple accent weaving on trim strip and chain design. 2 ears. 3/8″ weave. There are no broken or cracked splints, no stains (see last photo - small splint | shave ???). The liner is original and is in very good condition and still looks nice in the basket. The protector is also free of cracks. The Longaberger Company, Dresden Ohio, created handwoven baskets out of hardwood maple sourced from the US, pottery, hand-forged wrought iron and other items for over forty years, from 1973 to 2018. Longaberger baskets were handwoven baskets and initialed by the artisan who created them.
