Dating to the 1950s/1960s or so, here's a Sterling Silver (hallmarked as pictured) link bracelet by Los Ballesteros of Taxco, Mexico. The bracelet features a Greek Key design with sections inlaid with slabs of abalone shell. The bracelet links are slightly curved and while the piece has a length of 7-1/8", the wearable length is 6-3/4". Width of the panels is 11/16"; weight is 22.6 grams. Tongue in slide clasp that works as it should. No Eagle Mark. Excellent condition with no problems to the shell inlay. Nice shine to the silver though the reverse could use a touch more polishing to take out some stray bits of tarnish.
LOS BALLESTEROS: Established in 1937 by Jalil Majul Ballesteros in Iguala, Guerrero Mexico. He came from a long line of family jewelers. His early manufacturing style used filigree; however, around 1941, the shop moved to Taxco where he began making pieces which were more in line with the styles designed for the tourist trade. In the 1950s, Los Ballesteros' pieces were produced by smaller family workshops in the Taxco area with the company supplying the designs, materials and tools. The pieces were marked "Talleres de los Ballesteros". The company continues to produce items to this day.
