MARVELOUS 1940s' NAVY FELT HAT WITH RED AND BLACK FEATHERS

This is a very elegant hat! The navy colored felt hat consists of a round crown surrounded by a medium upturned brim and a navy grosgrain band. At one side there is a gorgeous large and graceful red feather plus a couple of small black ones to finish the look. There is an elastic band attached to the inside to keep the hat in place. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials.
