Framed art print of a portrait painted in 1780 by artist Arthur W. Devis of a young boy named James Alexander Simpson. "Master Simpson" is probably the most famous of Devis's works and is beautifully presented in this frame.
Details:
The print was professionally framed by Turner Wall Accessories in wood under glass with a slanted shadowbox effect. Wood frame is a medium brown - "shadowbox" is gold. A light beige mat was inserted under the shadowbox frame then a goldtone oval trim added around the print. White and goldtone embellishments were placed in each corner to accent the portrait. Date framed is estimated in the 1960's or 1970's.
Condition:
Good pre-owned vintage condition. There are a few light scratches on the wood frame. Backing looks like it has had some water or moisture damage but it does not show on the front of the print. There is a tiny lint piece under the glass at the bottom center of the frame. Other than those items it is in beautiful condition for an item over 50 years old.
