MCM ELIS KAUPPI/KUPITAAN KULTA/FINLAND STERLING SILVER AND QUARTZ BROOCH

Mid-century-modern Elis Kauppi (designer 1924-2001) sterling silver brooch with a quartz stone measures 2 & 5/8" in length. He started his own company (Kupitaan Kulta) at the age of 24 in Finland. The brooch is marked sterling with the anvil mark but is not hallmarked on the pin clasp, which may be a replacement. The piece does acid test as sterling and the stone tests as quartz.
