MCM Sculpture Fine Porcelain Figure Mid Century Modern Fish Minimalist Royal Dux

True Mid Century Modern artwork, circa 1960. Design by Jaroslav Jezek for Royal Dux (Czech / German). Glazed White Porcelain Fish on Stand. Wonderfully minimalist, this abstract animal figure has been reduced to its aesthetic essence: simple, organic lines and elegant curves. The glossy white shows beautifully against any background. SIZE: Measures 10 3/4” L x ~ 2” deep x 5 3/4” H at its tallest point. CONDITION: Overall excellent condition with one note: each end of the tail has chipped (blunt edges). See photo #6, which shows the tail (left) vs one that’s fully intact (right). It does not alter the silhouette. Discounted accordingly nonetheless. Reasonable offers welcome. The Artist: Jaroslav Ježek was known for his animal figures in the 1950s - 60s, often depicted in movement. Several of his works were awarded top prizes at the Expo 58 Brussels.
