MCM Tye of California circular sculptural vase.

The vase features a ballish shaped design with a cut into and hollowed out appearance. The exterior is an orange glaze with a finely spotted, mottled and speckled black color. There is some gold speckling in areas as well. The sides have a jagged look like someone took out large bites at the top. Inside has a black glaze, shiny more towards the middle. The inside sides, the glaze gets rougher and duller in the black glaze. The glaze has shiny black mottled spots. The vase is quite large. Cool piece. Halloween looking. It is amazing how the piece has survived all these years in the condition it is in. The piece probably dates from the 1960's or 1970's. On underside, there is an incised numbers and a incised signature Tye of California. The pottery has a very minute chip on top in one the edges of the jagged edges. Some runny reddish areas in glaze near the bottom part of piece. The vase exterior will have pin holes, spots and scuffs. Minor areas of surface wear due to age etc. Most issues are made that way. This is art pottery, so anything goes. The bottom has shelf wear and colored rust like staining etc. Some faint areas of crazing. RARE FORM  Measurements: 10 1/4 by 11 by 10 1/4.
