Here is a limited edition pewter figurine of James of Zebedee made by Michael Ricker in the USA. The base is inscribed with 225/3500 and the back of the figurine has © RICKER 1994. This was part of Michael Ricker's Limited Edition Series --> Fisher of Men. Issue price was $75 and the edition is now closed. James has a staff, a draped outfit with a small hip purse/pouch on his left rear hip and is wearing open-toed sandals and a turban. His representation is that of a pilgrim. The photos with the ruler are a bit incorrect due to the angle of the shot. It's more like 4 1/2" high and the base, at its widest part, measures about 1 5/8". From Wikipedia ... James, son of Zebedee was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, and traditionally considered the first apostle to be martyred. He was a son of Zebedee (a fisherman of the Sea of Galilee) and Salome (was considered one of the pious women), and brother of John the Apostle and may have been Jesus' cousin. Born in Bethsaida, Died 44 AD, Jerusalem, Israel. James is also called James the Greater or James the Great. James the Greater is the patron saint of Spain. The figurine weighs about 14 ounces. Quite hefty for its size. A very nice and meaningful collectible.
