From The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Egyptian Shell Pendant with black leather cord. According to the accompanying card, this Shell is 24K gold plate. It is based on an original pendant from the Egyptian Middle Kingdom (ca. 2040-1640 B.C.), when the height of refined jewelry making was achieved. Excellent condition, never worn. Includes MMA box and card.
