My greatest enjoyment comes from spending time with my horses.. My absolute passion is gentling and training mustangs, although I also own domestics. The white horse I'm riding is a Foxtrotter. At this time I am working with 4 mustangs of varied ages.. The oldest is the grey mare in the pictures. She was captured in 2016 at 8 years of age, and I acquired her 3 weeks later with a new foal at her side (the apricot dun), and one 'in the oven' (the chestnut). Thanks for enjoying my pictures!

wildandwestern @hilal2323 thank you so much! She was really something! I got her as a weanling and had her for many years... A buddy of mine kept pestering me to buy her, year after year after year, and I finally caved! Very bittersweet decision, but she has a fabulous life with him... He rides thousands of miles a year on her all over the United States and does Civil War reenactments on her etc. She has a wonderful life with him!

wildandwestern @foxydigs Hi there from Central WA! 😁 Yes, that was my mule, Shady ❤ I bought her at 6 months of age, raised her, trained her, and then sold her at 10 years of age to a friend who really really wanted her. She was incredibly smart and uniquely colored. One of the hardest decisions I've ever made LOL! He rides her in Wilderness areas, 100's of miles a year... Also uses her in Civil War reenactments. ❤

soulkitchen99 Can I tell you, as u say ur horse-crazy. * It is a natural fact, that all women, as part of their psyche growing into womanhood, from 11-12yo, crave "the horse". * We all go thru that stage. It is a healthy psychological physical extension of our having to deal w our bodies as women [having children, even our breasts growing], that th horse makes us feel physically more comfortable w ourselves.

I remember sitting at my desk & trying my hardest to copy w my own hand, th full anatomy of th horse. * Just cuz I was 12. I needed to!! ** Get this = I grab books at resale shops as I can. There was a book on horses. When I got home, it had th full anatomy photos - and I rememberd fully that stage of my girlhood. It was spooky!!

His name is Steens Mountain Thunder and I got him as a six-month-old weanling. We had many riding adventures together over the years and I taught many fearful children and newbie adults from his back he is so gentle and trustworthy. He is now owned and cherished by my best friend, Liz, and he spends every winter here at my place ❤

wildandwestern Yes I am horse crazy for sure! My folks tell me it started while I was still in diapers, and my Affliction has grown over the years! Lol! I will be 61 years old this year, and I am so thankful for having my horses after my brain was injured 4 years ago and I was no longer able to process complicated information. I had always made my living with my smart in my brain, and it was quite a challenge to accept the new me... My horses have been my therapy❤

soulkitchen99 @wildandwestern Its so funny. Im reading this book on vitamins, and it says that for any brain disorders = the B vitamins are what u need. Bs can cure autism. * It must be the B Complex vitamins. * U can take this, along w ur regular multivitamin. But take the Bs, 2-3 times daily. * Let me know, that ur gonna do this. I guarantee it will help u.

wildandwestern @soulkitchen99 Yes, for sure! Thank you for the good advice! I do take the B's, B12, 2 or 3 times a day.. A plethora of other vitamins and minerals too... Fish oil/Omegas in high doses... Picture #6... Awwww that was me on my Wendy. Big ol Oregon mustang mare who was my treasure... Forever. I lost her 5 yrs ago in a freak accident. It broke my heart. That picture was taken by my now Hubs, on our first ride together in the mtns.. dating 💞

luvyorlook Horses to me personally - are the most beautiful animal ever created .. is one of them a palomino or just the coloring . Fox trotter - I'm sure I'm way off but the only thing that comes to Mind is the Tennessee trotter - really quite a site of beauty in its way

wildandwestern @luvyorlook The little blonde colored baby mustang is finally turning a unique, dappled champagne color. She's gorgeous! That's her Mustang mama up on the pedestal with me there in the one picture... The little sorrel colored baby in that picture was in the mama's tummy unbeknownst to me, when I acquired her & the 3 wk old blondie baby from the wild. Mustangs are my passion. All the horses in these pics are my mustangs (except for my white Foxtrotter and my blue mule) 💕

wildandwestern @luvyorlook I'm down to 6 on the place now... It became too much for me to divide my time between, after I got so badly hurt in '14.. Really affected my stamina and endurance. There is something so incredibly healing and fulfilling in gaining a totally wild animal's trust & forming a partnership with it. My mustangs have really helped me accept slowing down & have taught me how to tune in to the unique needs & personality of each one. 💕

luvyorlook I saw a segment years ago about a man that showed his training and patience - it's not like it's a ";thing " many people do. You probably are familiar with him. So -aside from first gaining their trust HOW do you actually train them to be ridden ? It must REALLy take time - how do you get them to not feel threatened and want to not be confined.. you might have to text me - this is too interesting to try and ask just on here

wildandwestern @luvyorlook It all starts on the ground. A dance that equates ti what happend in the saddle. And it would take much time to really explain. But I read body language, a tiny muscle twitch, a shift in weight. I create a languge connection that the horse will understand - its own. Pressure, release, & draw. My horses will move away from my look to a part of their body, a hand signal, a touch as light as a fly. I draw them with body language that creates a vacuum of sorts to come into.

wildandwestern @luvyorlook My horsemanship abilities were completely changed by my brain injury... Much to my horses' relief and my amazement. Because I have almost no planning abilities now, very little awareness of the passing of time, almost no short term memory.. My reality is pretty much 'in the moment', which is a magical means of awareness and connection with horses. 💕
