Purchased Madewell’s top selling leather Rucksack over 6 years ago and used only a few times. It is in like new condition. Clean inside and out. No stains.

hi there can you tell me if this is slouchy or does it hold its shape and does it come from a smoke-free environment I purchase items used and they smell old or Smokey please let me know thank you so much in advance

@daspenny Hi! I would say it holds its shape nicely. Especially considering it’s fabric lined and not a rigid leather. It has the normal slouch you would expect when you first buy it and take the inside packing out. Comes from a smoke free home. There are zero odors.

@daspenny I don’t blame you. I’m super picky too! I purchased a vintage Coach bag that smelled like a bottle of febreeze! I can promise you there are no smelly odors.

@lisasp367 oh that's great thank you for taking the time to do that. I've never had a Madewell bag before I don't know what kind of quality the letter leather is I chose this bag as a favorite and one of my likes because I like the style of it and it doesn't look too big for slumpy slouchy have one now and it's like a big hunk of letter that just flattens itself when it's sitting lol anyhow I appreciate all of your input on this still very interested

@daspenny Absolutely! Madewell’s leather is high quality. It has the natural markings and variations you typically find in quality leather. If you are expecting it to stay sitting upright without anything in it, it’s not going to because it’s a supple leather and it’s fabric lined. There is nothing structurally to keep it perfectly upright. It’s the same with my Louis Vuitton bag. I keep tissue packed in the bottom to help the bag maintain it’s shape and give it a little bit of structure.
