Beautiful Italian marble mortar from Williams Sonoma. We never used it for food. I had decorative white Italian ceramic garlic in it on the kitchen island. These are listed separately. Indispensable for crushing herbs and spices to release their full flavors, this tool is the best choice for pounding an authentic pesto sauce. Heavy mortar is carved in Italy of fine Carrara marble. Deep sides keep food in bowl. Rough interior surface of bowl helps grind ingredients. Only selling because we are downsizing it all!! The price includes an extra 3-4lbs for overweight shipping charges. No bundling on this item. It is about 7lbs in its own. It will be packaged in heavy duty bubblewrap and will likely be shipped in a large USPS box. There is some discoloration on the bottom from the sale tag.
