I asked a couple other people selling the same bag to see the top of the purse where the Marc jacobs logo is and they refused to let me see. BIG RED FLAG!!!!!

nycelebstylist @corina42588755 There's also something off about the font on the strap. On the counterfeit ones, the lettering on the strap seems distorted. Although when sellers post the item with the strap folded up it's hard to tell.

nycelebstylist @corina42588755 There's been a huge influx of listings selling solid black Snap Shot bags with black straps. I'm sure a good majority of them are fakes. About 2 weeks ago there were about 60 separate listings for those bags on the Mer-kari app. The seller never had any past sales or reviews and their shipping address was always listed as New York or Pennsylvania.

They don’t post the parts that you can really tell it’s a replica. But the two names that I listed here they both sell replicas. And I posted them to blow them up. Unfortunately the one blocked me so I can’t comment on her listing any more

nycelebstylist @corina42588755 No. I mean the actual cloth webbing of the strap. If you look as some of them the lettering is fuzzy and distorted. I see some people selling only the strap and the strap looks counterfeit.

nycelebstylist @corina42588755 Yes they are fake accounts probably set up by same person. They all have fake MJ bags, fake Vivienne Westwood necklaces, fake Stella McCartney, fake Chrome Hearts. I've come across 5 of those accounts in the last 7 minutes. Just report them.

She also has those Stella McCarthy and Westwood things too, I was told a lot of people bootlegging snapshot also bootleg those too.

brooklynbski @corina42588755 also I have 7 snapshots all bought from Zappos and Marc Jacobs and not one of these bags had plastic on the logo or paper on the strap. I thought it was pretty odd the way they were packaged. Another thing I noticed some of the fakes have fold marks in the strap especially on the rainbow strap on the special edition New York Marc Jacobs one. Mine are all authentic and the strap is so thick and what it’s made of there’s no way to ever get a fold mark.

brooklynbski @nycelebstylist just to let you guys know also the strap holder rings don’t always say Marc Jacobs on authentic bags. That definitely isn’t an indication. I have authentic bags that don’t have it. I have a blue DTM that’s from Saks and it’s plain not marked Marc Jacobs. Just happen to be using this one right now and looked. I got it directly from Saks so I know it’s authentic.

I rarely buy used designer bags unless kinda as a throwaway bag The DTMs on the Marc Jacobs website have Marc Jacobs engraved on the metal clasp not the ring. However someone wrote a review after purchasing one from Neimans and said the bag they received in the mail did not look like the bag in the stock pictures on the website. But yeah, I usually just buy directly from marcjacobs..com

brooklynbski @nycelebstylist yes that’s how mine is on the clasp it says The Marc jacobs but the actual ring that you attach the clasp to don’t. I believe a few that I have are that way. I’m gonna look tomorrow and see maybe older bags have it and newer ones don’t cause mine are all recent . I think the oldest one I have is the confetti bag.

nycelebstylist @brooklynbski I've never seen any that I can recall that say Marc Jacobs on the circular ring. Not on the newer bags. I think he might have done that for some bags released in the early 2000s. He only generally puts a logo in a place where it can be seen, as far as the hardware goes.

That’s why this is a great start for people to try to authenticate their bags but they change up stuff all the time like that logo ring but I never bought a snapshot from anything but an authorized dealer so not something I looked at till I saw it on this post.

rclairemcaree @brooklynbski yeah, I questioned them on the price, design and a few other items that seemed off on this one Snapshot that I was tempted by and I asked them if they're authentic to which I received a "buy elsewhere" comment on my bundle... so I won't be sharing that anymore... it's a shame the real Snapshots aren't that expensive

Years ago when the bags started there were great replicas too but the bags were 1K and up so I get it but now the bags are affordable and the replicas close to real bag price.
